Advanced Topics: Vaccines and Immunity

The purpose of this course is to (1) explore the history of vaccines; (2) evaluate characteristics of successful vaccines and their role in the management of infectious diseases and public health; (3) discuss strategies for safe and effective vaccines; and (4) discuss the ethical and economic realities of vaccine use and development in the world today. Spring semesters.
